Palm Coast Man Arrested for Domestic Battery, Strangulation, and False Imprisonment of Pregnant Victim
Date:Thursday, May 21, 2026
BUNNELL, Fla. —
On May 18, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a Palm Coast residence and contacted the victim, who reported a prolonged, violent assault by Damien Irven, 25, of Palm Coast. According to the victim, an argument that began over text messages escalated into an hours-long incident during which Irven physically assaulted her, strangled her to the point she could not breathe, and prevented her from leaving the residence. The victim told deputies she believed she was going to be killed and the assault lasted approximately five to six hours.
The victim also stated that Irven threatened to kill her during a phone call the following day if she reported the incident to law enforcement.
A warrant was issued for Irven’s arrest, and the FCSO Fugitive Apprehension Unit, in coordination with the Daytona Beach Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, located and arrested Irven on May 19 at an apartment complex in Daytona Beach.

“This suspect spent hours terrorizing a pregnant woman in her own home and then threatened her life if she called for help. That is pure evil,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Attacking a pregnant victim is about as low as it gets, and domestic violence has no place in Flagler County. Thanks to the outstanding work of our deputies, our Fugitive Apprehension Unit and our partners at the Daytona Beach Police Department, this violent offender is now behind bars where he belongs.”
Irven is facing multiple felony charges, including domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated battery on a pregnant person, tampering with a witness, felony battery (prior conviction), robbery by sudden snatching, and false imprisonment. He was transferred to the Volusia County Jail, where he is being held for extradition to Flagler County.
Irven has a previous conviction in Flagler County for domestic battery.
