FCSO Arrests Palm Coast Man Who Sexually Assaulted Teen and Tried to Flee the State
Date:Monday, June 1, 2026
After a monthlong investigation, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Palm Coast man who sexually assaulted a teenager and tried to flee the state during the investigation.
In April, the FCSO Cyber Crimes Unit began investigating a reported sex offense after a juvenile victim disclosed that she had been assaulted by a man she knew only as “Micah.”
Through investigative means, detectives identified the suspect as Micah McGuire, 21, of Palm Coast. During the investigation, detectives determined that McGuire engaged in unlawful sexual activity with the teen and recorded a portion of the encounter on the teen’s cellphone.
On May 29, detectives attempted to locate McGuire and ultimately reached him by phone to arrange a meeting. During the call, McGuire was agitated and told detectives he was moving to Denver on June 3 because he wanted to get “out of Florida.” After the call, McGuire began making numerous calls in an attempt to leave the state immediately, including trying to arrange a ride to Orlando so he could fly to Colorado ahead of schedule.
Detectives with the Cyber Crimes Unit and Digital Forensics Unit later met McGuire and interviewed him at his residence. While speaking to McGuire outside the front door, detectives informed him they had a search warrant and would be collecting his DNA and cellphone.
After being informed of the search warrant, McGuire became uncooperative, stepped back into the residence, and attempted to slam the door on the detectives. Detectives then secured McGuire as he continued to resist.
“This dirtbag thought he could assault a child and then skip town to Colorado before we caught up to him. He thought wrong,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Our Cyber Crimes and Digital Forensics Unit detectives did an outstanding job identifying and locating this dirtbag, gathering evidence, and getting him in handcuffs before he could buy a one-way ticket out of Florida. Instead, he got a free one-way ride to the Green Roof Inn.”

Deputies arrested McGuire for lewd or lascivious battery, promoting sexual performance by a child, and resisting an officer without violence. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $61,000 bond.
McGuire has a prior history with previous arrests for charges including written or electronic threats to kill, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, obstruction without violence, and violation of probation.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Detectives are seeking potential additional victims. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the FCSO non-emergency line at 386-313-4911 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS.
