Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers in the United States. In fact, teen drivers ages 16–19 have a higher risk of motor vehicle crashes than any other age group. However, teen motor vehicle crash deaths and injuries can be easily prevented.

TIPS FOR TEENS

  • Always wear your seat belt.
  • Don’t text or have any other distractions while driving.
  • Follow the posted speed limit.
  • Don’t drink and drive.
