CASE UPDATE: Jacksonville Man Sentenced for Possessing, Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material
BUNNELL, Fla. — Amias Mabini, 26, of Jacksonville, who was arrested by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes/ICAC Unit in July 2025 on 40 counts of Viewing and Distribution of Child Pornography, has been convicted and sentenced.
On March 4, Mabini pleaded guilty to 12 of the 40 counts charged against him. Following Mabini’s plea agreement, Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols sentenced him to five years in a Florida Department of Corrections prison, followed by 10 years of sex offender probation. Mabini will also be required to register as a sex offender.
“Our thorough investigation, and the state attorney’s office’s aggressive stance on those who view and distribute child sexual abuse material, lead to a lengthy prison sentence for this pervert,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Our Cyber Crimes/ICAC detectives and partners work tirelessly to identify offenders, build strong cases, and hold them accountable.”
Mabini is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility awaiting transfer to FDC custody.

FCSO Cyber Crimes Unit Arrests Jacksonville Man for 40 Counts of Possession and Transmission of Child Pornography
BUNNELL, Fla. —On July 12, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes/ICAC Unit, with assistance from local partners through the Northeast Florida Inter-Agency Child Exploitation and Persons Trafficking Task Force (INTERCEPT), arrested Amais Mabini, 25, of Jacksonville, for 40 counts of Viewing and Distribution of Child Pornography.
In January 2025, FCSO detectives began an investigation following a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children regarding child sexual abuse material being shared by a user on the app Kik in September 2024. Through investigative means, detectives identified Mabini as the user registered with the app. During the investigation, detectives documented 40 instances of Mabini viewing and transmitting child sexual abuse material from his residence on Plain View Drive in Palm Coast and that he was now living in Jacksonville, FL.
On July 12, detectives met Mabini at the Sheriff’s Operations Center in Bunnell to discuss a allegation of abuse. During the interview, Mabini admitted to viewing and distributing child pornography. Detectives arrested Mabini for 40 counts of Viewing/Distribution of Child Pornography with enhancement and 8 counts of Viewing/Distribution of Child Pornography without enhancement. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $480,000 bond.
“Let this be a clear message to anyone who thinks they can hide behind a keyboard to exploit children,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “We will find you, arrest you, and hold you accountable. I commend the outstanding work of our Cyber Crimes detectives, Digital Forensics team, and our law enforcement partners,. who collectively investigated this case to get this pervert off the streets and in jail where he belongs. FCSO and our partners are relentless in protecting our most vulnerable and will continue to pursue perverts with every tool available. We do not tolerate this behavior in our community, not now, not ever.”
