Flagler Beach Man Arrested for Soliciting a Child After Joint Investigation Led by FCSO Cyber Crimes/ICAC Unit
BUNNELL, Fla. — The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Flagler Beach man following a seven-month joint investigation by the FCSO Cyber Crimes/Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Northeast Florida Inter-Agency Child Exploitation and Persons Trafficking Task Force, in which detectives determined the man attempted to solicit a child.
The investigation began in June 2025 when deputies responded to a reported sex offense involving Cameron Terry, then-22, and a 14-year-old girl. According to the caller, who knew the victim and had knowledge of the incident, Terry had been sending sexually explicit messages to the victim. During the initial report, the caller provided deputies with photographs of Snapchat messages sent between Terry and the victim.
During their investigation, deputies interviewed the victim, who stated she had met Terry while playing an online poker game with a friend. Days later, the victim’s friend told her that Terry had been stalking her on Snapchat. The victim told deputies that she added Terry on Snapchat to confront him, and he began sending her sexually explicit messages. In the messages, which deputies reviewed, Terry asked the victim about her virginity, made graphic statements describing sexual acts he wanted to engage in with her, and requested pictures of her lifting her shirt. The victim told deputies Terry was aware of her age, as she had told him she was 14 on multiple occasions.
The victim also explained to deputies that, when sending sexually explicit messages, Terry would change the chat settings in Snapchat so that his messages would be deleted immediately after they were viewed and told the victim not to save the messages because he did not want “proof.”
The investigation was assigned to the FCSO Cyber Crimes/ICAC Unit, who began investigating the case in coordination with NEFL INTERCEPT. During the investigation, detectives interviewed Terry, who confirmed the conversation where he asked the victim if she was a virgin and asked her to lift her shirt to expose herself. He also confirmed that he knew the victim was 14.
After detectives obtained a search warrant for Terry’s cellphones, the FCSO Digital Forensics Unit conducted a forensic examination of the devices. Detectives then reviewed messages found on both devices. One device contained a deleted conversation on Snapchat between Terry and the victim, which corroborated the victim’s statement that Terry was actively deleting messages to hide evidence of his criminality. The other device contained a deleted conversation on Discord between Terry and the victim.

On Feb. 2, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Terry for solicitation of a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer service or device and unlawful use of a two-way communications device. Detectives, along with the FCSO Fugitive Unit, attempted to serve the warrant at Terry’s residence, but he was not home. Terry’s father stated he would get his son to turn himself in. A few hours later, Terry turned himself in at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
“Our Cyber Crimes/ICAC Unit works hard with the INTERCEPT Task Force to investigate these cases and ensure that anyone targeting a child is put behind bars,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. “I commend the team on this investigation, and I also want to thank the third-party caller who was looking out for the victim and reported this activity on the victim’s behalf once they learned about it. I also thank the suspect’s father for having his son turn himself in. That’s a hard decision for a parent, but the father did the right thing.”
Following his arrest, Terry, 23, was booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He was later released on a $60,000 bond.
FCSO is a member of NEFL INTERCEPT, a regional task force focused on combating child exploitation and human trafficking, joining in April 2025. This multi-agency initiative, operating in partnership with Operation Lightshine, includes investigators and analysts from across Northeast Florida, representing agencies such as the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Homeland Security Investigations.###
