‘See Something, Say Something’ Results in Missouri Fugitive Sex Offender Arrest

BUNNELL, Fla. — On Wednesday, Deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a fugitive sex offender who tried to move to Flagler County after a concerned citizen ‘saw something and said something.’
Wednesday morning, the FCSO Fugitive Apprehension Unit was notified that Scott Granden, 40, of Saint Louis, Missouri had just 12 hours prior moved into a home on Perthshire Lane in Palm Coast. Granden was a Missouri fugitive wanted on two warrants for failing to register as a sex offender and leaving the scene of a crash out of Missouri, and a felony battery warrant in Jacksonville, Florida.

Deputies with the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Problem Area Crime Enforcement and K9 Unit surrounded the home and made several announcements for Granden to come outside. After Granden refused to come to the door, deputies breached the door and continued giving commands. When he still refused to come out, an FCSO K-9 responded. After commands from the K-9 handler and the barking K-9, Granden eventually came out of the home and was arrested without further incident.
“If you’re a fugitive, Flagler County is the wrong place to hide,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This dirtbag thought he could flee to Florida, enjoy the sunshine and escape law enforcement. Instead, someone ‘saw something, said something,’ and our deputies put him in handcuffs before his boxes were unpacked. The only good decision he made was to avoid having a K-9 take a bite out of crime! We will not tolerate fugitives trying to make Flagler County their hideout.”
Deputies arrested Granden for resisting without violence, violation of probation and on active fugitive warrants and transported him to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.

Granden is a sex offender after being found guilty of Abusive Sexual Contact in Atlanta, Georgia in 2022.
