BUNNELL, Fla. — Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies made 11 arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, and 6 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026. Deputies handled 746 calls for service and made 167 traffic stops.
Deputies Arrest South Daytona Man With Nearly 400 MDMA Pills
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on April 4 with nearly 400 MDMA pills following a late-night traffic stop that began with an equipment violation.
Just after midnight, an FCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop in Bunnell after observing a vehicle with a taillight out. The driver was identified as Dequan Lundy, 32, of South Daytona, who had an active Flagler County warrant for failure to appear related to a possession of cocaine.

In the glove box, deputies located a Ziplock bag containing approximately 290 round, white, unlabeled pills (160.52 grams), which tested presumptive positive for MDMA.
In the center console, deputies found a clear jar containing a variety of pills, including two blue “Superman”-shaped pills (0.59 grams), which tested presumptive positive for fentanyl, along with multiple round pills of varying colors—camo, blue, red, yellow, peach, and brown — which tested presumptive positive for MDMA. Inside the vehicle, deputies also found approximately 18 grams of green leafy substance that tested presumptive positive for marijuana.
Deputies additionally located a small baggie containing a white powder that tested presumptive positive for MDMA, four vape pens containing brown oil that tested positive for THC/hashish oil, a glass pipe with marijuana residue, and two glass capsules with marijuana residue.
In total, deputies recovered nearly 400 pills from the vehicle.
“Most people’s Easter baskets are full of colored eggs and candy,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This Easter, a poison peddler had an illegal smorgasbord of colorful pills and poison. If you’re carrying enough MDMA to stock a Stockholm nightclub and fentanyl that can kill with a tiny dose, we’re going to find you and arrest you. I commend our deputy for looking beyond the traffic stop and getting this poison off the streets.”
Deputies arrested Lundy for trafficking in phenethylamines (MDMA), possession of fentanyl, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for failure to appear for possession of cocaine.
Deputies transported Lundy to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on no bond.

Palm Coast Woman Arrested for Possession of Meth, Anti-Psychotics
On Sunday, April 5, deputies arrested a woman with a narcotics following a traffic stop.
Late on Sunday evening, an FCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 95 on a Ford F150 that was speeding and failing to maintain its lane.
Deputies asked both the driver and the passenger to exit the vehicle. Deputies observed the passenger Brittany Cowart, 20, of Palm Coast, attempting to conceal a plastic bag on the passenger side of the vehicle as she exited.

In plain view on the passenger side of the vehicle was a piece of tinfoil, a red straw with a burnt tip, and the plastic bag Cowart had attempted to conceal.
Deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle. Inside they found a purse belonging to Cowart containing several unused syringes, a scale with residue, and a yellow round pill later identified as quetiapine fumarate. They also found a clear pill organizer that contained less than 1 gram of crystal rock-like substance wrapped in tinfoil, less than one gram of green powdery substance, less than one gram of pink powdery substance, and approximately three grams of a white powdery substance, all which separately tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine/amphetamine.
In the back passenger seat, there were four more quetiapine fumarate pills.
In Cowart’s possession was a small multi-colored rubber container, which held a crystal rock-like substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine/amphetamine.
After being informed that deputes had found the drugs inside the vehicle, Cowart simply stated “Happy Easter.”
Deputies arrested Cowart for one count of possession of harmful new legend drug without a prescription, six counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Facility, where she is being held on $33,000 bond.
