Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies made 13 arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, and 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. Deputies handled 675 calls for service and made 111 traffic stops.
Man Arrested for Warrant, Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop
On Friday, deputies arrested Jody Silvernell, 62, of Palm Coast on multiple charges after he was found to have an active arrest warrant and had drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop.
Friday evening, deputies were alerted that Silvernell, who had an active warrant for leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, was seen travelling through Bunnell. Deputies began searching the area, and they quickly located Silvernell’s vehicle on State Road 100 West and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, deputies confirmed Silvernell’s active warrant and took him into custody without incident.
During a search of Silvernell’s vehicle, deputies found a container holding a crystal-like substance in the center console, another container holding a white powdery-like substance in a pocket on the driver’s side door, and a glass pipe with burnt residue tucked between seats. Both substances inside the containers tested positive for methamphetamine.
Deputies arrested Silvernell for his warrant, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he was later released on a $4,500 bond.

“This guy first made the mistake of leaving a crash in which the other driver was hurt, then he thought he could drive around with a warrant and not get caught, and on top of that he had drugs in the vehicle,” said Sheriff Rick Staly.
Silvernell was wanted after a hit-and-run crash on Dec. 15, 2025, in which he drove off after a rear-end collision with another vehicle on Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast.
Woman Arrested After Deputies Find Her Driving Stolen Vehicle on a Suspended License
On Sunday, deputies arrested Suntisha Cochrane, 45, of Daytona Beach, after a traffic stop led to multiple charges.
Just after midnight, deputies were alerted to a vehicle travelling on Interstate 95 whose registered owner had a suspended driver’s license. Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near mile marker 289 in Palm Coast. During the traffic stop, deputies determined the driver, Cochrane, was not the registered owner of the vehicle and verified her driver’s license to be suspended as well.
Deputies asked Cochrane to exit the vehicle. While speaking to Cochrane, deputies noticed an unnatural bulge under her sports bra, which they later found to be a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.
Deputies contacted the vehicle’s owner, who stated that Cochrane had been given permission to use the vehicle earlier in the week but had not returned the vehicle. The owner told deputies he had attempted to report the vehicle stolen in Volusia County and still wished to report it as stolen. Cochrane later told deputies she was not supposed to have the vehicle and was leaving Florida and going to Tennessee.
Deputies arrested Cochrane for driving while license suspended, possession of methamphetamine, and grand theft of a motor vehicle. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where she is being held on a $4,500 bond.

“This was a great job by deputies by looking beyond the traffic stop to determine the vehicle was actually stolen and she was in possession of meth,” said Sheriff Staly. “Now instead of a nice drive to the Volunteer State, she got an unvoluntary ride to the Green Roof Inn.”
Cochrane has a lengthy arrest history, with a dozen previous arrests across three states for charges including DUI, reckless driving, burglary, petit theft, possession of a controlled substance, assault, offering to commit prostitution, and violation of probation.
