On Feb. 28, around 6 p.m., a deputy conducting traffic enforcement observed a black Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling southbound on I-95 at speeds greater than 100 mph. As the deputy closed in on the motorcycle, Jacobs continued traveling at excessive speeds and was observed weaving through lanes, tailgating, and failing to signal while passing motorists.
The deputy paced the motorcycle at approximately 114 to 116 mph before conducting a traffic stop near mile marker 279.
During the traffic stops, Jacobs told deputies he had a handgun inside a saddlebag along with marijuana. Deputies conducted an inventory search prior to towing the motorcycle and located a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P .38 Special revolver, suspected marijuana (6 grams), and a smoking device with burnt residue.
Deputies also determined Jacobs was displaying a Tennessee tag, which did not belong to the motorcycle he was riding.
“Daytona Beach Bike Week is supposed to be a week of wide-open roads and chrome, but guns, drugs, and wide-open speeding are a quick way to turn Bike Week into Jail Week and a stay at the Green Roof Inn,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “We welcome our visitors, but we don’t condone reckless driving.”
Deputies arrested Jacobs for dangerous excessive speeding (100+ mph), attaching a tag not assigned, possession of cannabis under 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Detention Facility, where he was released on $2,000 bond.
New Hampshire woman arrested following armed burglary and domestic incident
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ashley Hildreth, 36, of New Hampshire, following a domestic incident that escalated into an armed burglary of a dwelling after she forced entry into a Palm Coast home, stole a firearm, and barricaded herself in a bathroom.

On March 1, around 3 a.m., deputies responded to Baltimore Lane in Palm Coast after the Flagler County Emergency Communication Center received a call regarding a residential burglary.
The victim told deputies that Hildreth was visiting from New Hampshire and had gotten “black out” drunk and walked off due to a disagreement. After she got too drunk, the victim told Hildreth that she was not allowed to enter his home and gave her alternate sleeping arrangements. However, Hildreth entered his home through a window while the victim was not home and shut off power at the breaker box, disabling the homes lights and security cameras. Hildreth located the victim’s .22 caliber revolver and barricaded herself inside a bathroom with it.
Deputies contacted Hildreth as she exited the residence into the garage area. During this contact, she advised deputies she was in possession of a firearm. Deputies secured her without incident and recovered the firearm.
During the investigation, deputies located evidence of forced entry through a rear window, including a removed window screen that was later found hidden behind a television, and damage to property inside the home.
“Alcohol and domestic disputes can turn dangerous in an instant, especially when someone forces their way into a home and gets a gun,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “If you break into someone’s home and take their gun, you are asking for a tragedy. Deputies handled this incident professionally and de-escalated what should never have happened in the first place.”
Deputies arrested Hildreth for armed burglary of a dwelling, grand theft of a firearm, simple battery (dating violence), and felony criminal mischief. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where she is being held without bond.###
