BUNNELL, Fla. — Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies made seven arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, and 6 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026. Deputies handled 735 calls for service and made 93 traffic stops.
Georgia Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Firearm Following Traffic Stop
Deputies arrested a Georgia man on weapon-related charges over the weekend following a traffic stop in the area of Lewis Drive and London Drive in Palm Coast.
On Sunday morning, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Hyundai Santa Fe after the driver ran a stop sign. During the traffic stop, deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle and neither of the occupants possessed a medical marijuana card.
While searching one of the passengers, identified as Corey Brown, 19, of Gwinnett County, Georgia, deputies located a stolen firearm in his waistband. Brown told deputies he did not know it was stolen and that he had purchased it off the street in Atlanta.

“Purchasing a gun ‘off the streets’ in Atlanta is asking for trouble,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Often guns used in serious crimes, like murder, are passed around and sold on the street many times and the person caught with it is left holding the bag for an even more serious crime. He learned the hard way that he shouldn’t have come to Flagler County with a stolen gun and smoking pot.”
Deputies arrested Brown for grand theft of a firearm and unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on $5,000 bond.
The driver and other occupants of the vehicle were released, and a small amount of marijuana was confiscated for destruction.
Driver Arrested for DUI After Striking Multiple Vehicles
On Sunday evening, deputies arrested a Palm Coast woman on DUI charges following a DUI and traffic crash investigation in Palm Coast.
Flagler County Emergency Communications Center received multiple calls shortly after 5 p.m. about a traffic crash in which multiple vehicles were struck and the suspect vehicle fled the scene. With assistance from several witnesses, deputies later located the vehicle, a black Toyota Tacoma with heavy front-end damage, stopped near Ulaturn Trail and Seminole Woods Boulevard.
While speaking with deputies, the driver, identified as Marina Brandon, 25, of Palm Coast, appeared partially clothed and disheveled and was unable to speak clearly. She also smelled strongly of alcohol. After exiting the vehicle, Brandon swayed and stumbled multiple times and was unable to maintain her balance.

Upon completion of the crash investigation, deputies conducted a DUI investigation. While attempting to complete the field sobriety exercises, Brandon continued to show signs of impairment and was unable to complete most of the exercises.
“This incident shows just how dangerous drinking and driving can be,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “The driver not only chose to get behind the wheel while more than three times the legal limit but also struck several vehicles and fled. When she sobers up, she should be thankful that she did not seriously injure or kill someone. I thank the witnesses for ‘seeing something and saying something,’ so we could get her off the streets.”
Brandon was arrested for DUI with property damage, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and leaving the scene of a crash involving damage to property. After refusing treatment at a local hospital, she was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where breath tests revealed a blood alcohol content of .250.
Brandon was released on a $5,500 bond.
