Stolen Cellphones, Jewelry, and Credit Cards Lead to Three Arrests for Narcotics and Recovery of Stolen Property

Aug 29, 2024 - On August 20, a Palm Coast resident reported two cellphones, a tablet, jewelry, and credit cards were taken from her home on Frontier Drive. The victim also told deputies more than $8,000 was charged to the cards before they were canceled and deactivated. The victim stated the suspect, Jody Rogers, 53, of Bunnell took the items.

The MX908 is a handheld device for the identification of suspected illegal narcotics and explosives, as well as real-time chemical detection. The device can be used to analyze solid, liquid, vapor, and aerosol samples in a matter of minutes.

Aug 22, 2024 - On August 22, around 3 a.m., Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on patrol along Mahogany Boulevard in Daytona North. The deputies noticed a vehicle in a driveway with the lights on and not running and appeared to be unoccupied. Knowing this was uncommon for the residence at that hour, the deputies investigated further.

Newsholme, 68, was arrested after Flagler County Sheriff’s Office detectives determined he had conducted an organized scheme to defraud clients of his tax business.

Aug 8, 2024 - On August 7, 2024, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Major Case Unit obtained two additional arrest warrants on David Chenowith, 32, of Palm Coast, based on a review of evidence recovered from his cell phone by FCSO’s Digital Forensics Unit. The warrants were served at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility where he was being held from the prior arrest. He is being held on no bond.

Flagler Sheriff’s Police Athletic League Awarded NRA Grant

Aug 7, 2024 - The Flagler Sheriff’s Police Athletic League was awarded a grant through the National Rifle Association (NRA) to provide equipment to support the Flagler Sheriff’s Explorers Firearm Safety Training and Competition Project. This program teaches the Explorer’s proper firearm safety, the anatomical parts of the firearms, how to properly take apart and clean firearms, and how to safely engage targets at a shooting range.
